Message Long story short, a guy in the Bluegrass Z Car Club had a '91 NA Automatic 2+2 he had cut the front core support and headlight buckets off of to fix another car. Other than that, it was a running/driving car when he cut it up. Since my 90 shell was rusting out something serious, he offered to give me the shell of the 91 if I parted it out and gave him back anything I didn't use. I felt up for a project, so I took it on.

How she looked when I got it home:

Both cars at home:

Stripping it down, no motor, trans, or front suspension:

Originally I planned on cutting my front end off and welding it to the 91, then just swapping all of my parts over, converting it to a TT 5-speed and leaving it all white for a while. Well, after getting into it, I decided to go all out and do a full color change to charcoal (graphite pearl)

The core support cut off of the 90:

Engine bay painted:

Car in primer:

After painting, my painter sanding the car with 1500 grit before buffing:

Got it home and started putting it together. First day in the sunlight. Didn't have the interior in so nevermind the hanging maplight:

The rest in the garage all cleaned up:

Sorry for some of the pics being blurry. I had to take them without the flash or they really looked funny under the flourescents. Once the weather gets better here, I'll take some good ones outside. I have high res pics of all of these and plenty more including the cutting and welding of the front core support, paint, reassembly, etc. If you want to see any of that, just let me know and I'll repost. Thanks for looking and, yes, I'm working on a new sig!
